MMH Gamage


      Rear Admiral Muditha Munipriya Hirimbura Gamage studied at Royal Primary, Dehiwala & Isipathana College, Colombo and then joined Sri Lanka Navy as an Officer Cadet on 07th January 1985. He has followed basic training in Naval and Maritime Academy, Trincomalee.

After his basic training, he followed Sub Lieutenant Technical Course in Pakistan in 1987/1988, specialized on Long G Course in Pakistan in 1994, graduated from The Naval Staff Collage in United States of America in 2001, followed International Senior Officers Amphibious Planning Course in United States of America in 2006, & Master of Maritime Policy Course in Australia 2015.

He has commanded Patrol Craft, Fast Gun Boat, Fast passenger carrier of Sri Lanka Navy and during 2010/2011 he commanded SLNS Samudura, one of Sri Lanka Navy’s Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPV)

During his tenure, he has shouldered many important and key appointments including Deputy Area Commander North Central Naval Area, Deputy Director General Costal Guard, Chief instructor Defence Services Command and Staff College, Director General Administration and Director General Service. Presently he holds the appointment as the Commander North Central Naval Area.

He has been decorated with Rana Sura Padakkama for his bravery and valour (Collective gallantry in the face of enemy) and also a recipient of Utthama Seva Medal (valuable service and devotion to duty marked by exceptional ability).

He is married to Mrs Wasanthi, who is a Nursing Officer and blessed with a daughter (Nishadi 24 years) and a Son (Deshan 22 years).
