Vigilant Naval troops on close coastal patrol captured a Fibre Glass Dinghy with Sea Tiger Leader Soosai’ s family members who were desperately attempting to escape disguised as refugees today (15th of May 2009) around 0300 hrs in the seas of Mullaithivu. The FGD had eleven (11) persons on board with Soosai’s Wife Sathyadevi, Daughter Sivanesan Mani Arasu, Son Sivanesan Sindhu, Sister-in- Law C Thavarasa (58), Elder Brother’s Son Silanbarasa and a top Sea Tiger Leader Rooban’s Wife N Sivanesan (25). A large sum of cash amounting to Rs. 575,000/= and a hoard of jewellery weighing approximately 2 and ½ Kilograms which were being smuggled were also found in their possession.
This shows how luxurious life they had been living amassing money while subjecting tens of thousands of innocent Tamil civilians to untold hardships violating all norms of civilized life. The alert Naval troops deployed in the first defence barrier of the Naval Cordon which has been imposed in the North-eastern seas had made the swift move capturing the prized catch. The incident is a clear indication of LTTE Sea Tigers’ total disarray of defences due to the unrelenting heavy onslaught being carried out by the SLN against the terror outfit. They have now shrunk to a point of no-return due to the SLN’s tactical maneuvers , even being unable to provide protection to their ever-diminishing top leadership.
