Rear Admiral R. Kadiragamar, MVO
- Royal Ceylon Navy Born in 1922 and commissioned as probationary Sub Lieutenant of Ceylon Naval Volunteer Force / Ceylon Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve on 01st January 1942. Promoted to Lieutenant in 1944, and served on all Ceylon Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (CRNVR) ships. After general demobilization, he was remained in the "Nucleus" and led CRNVR on contingent to the victory parade in London in 1946. After that he was appointed as the first Commanding Officer of H.M.Cy.S. VIJAYA. Extra A.D.C. to governor general's soulbury, Goonetilleke and Gopallawa. Promoted to Lieutenant Commander in 1949, Commander in 1955, Captain in 1959, Temporary Commodore in 1960 (Confirmed 1964). Appointed as working director at Port (Cargo) Corporation in addition. He retired in 1.7.1970. Awarded star and Burma star for war service from 1939 - 1945 .
