06 Barrels of diesel, each with 210 litres in, were nabbed by naval troops around 0530 hrs in the early hrs today (02nd May 2007) about 500 metres west of the Lighthouse at Karasalpadu in Thalaimannar, while they were ready to be transported to uncleared area in Vedithathathivu to be handed over to LTTE. They had been brought down on a truck; and 03 had been loaded to a dinghy, one was on the beach to be loaded and the other one was still on the truck when nabbed. A motor bicycle also was among the items arrested. The dingy along with a 15 horse power outboard motor, 06 barrels of diesel, the motor bicycle, the truck and the driver with the helper were taken into the naval custody.

The driver of the tractor claimed that they were brought down to transfer to the uncleared area to be handed over to LTTE.
