Naval troops deployed at the Pallemunai Fishing Marshalling point apprehended seventeen (17) barrels of diesel, each containing two hundred and ten (210) liters of diesel on the 18th May, 2007 around 1845 hrs. They had been hidden with the intention of smuggling in to the un-cleared areas by sea.

 

Subsequently, naval personnel carried out a search operation in the area. No arrest was made. The items found have been retained at the Naval Sub Unit, Pallemunai.
