Commander of the Navy visits Northern and Eastern Naval Bases.

Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy Vice Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe visited several Naval bases in the Northern and Eastern Naval Areas on 10th and 11th January 2010 respectively. He inspected the Naval Deployments in Kayts, Nainathivu and Kankasanthurei in the North and Thavulweva, Pulmudai and North of Trincomalee and looked into the welfare of the Naval personnel on deployment. Having assessed the security and administrative arrangements under implementation, he gave further directives for their improvements.

During his visits, the Navy Commander addressed the Naval personnel in Northern Naval area and Naval Deployments north of Trincomalee, the officers and sailors of the Naval Fleet and the Naval personnel attached to the Trincomalee Naval base. In his speeches, he emphasized the importance of continuous commitment to professional improvement for the efficient execution of Naval duties. He expressed satisfaction of their performance of tasks entrusted and instructed them to be ever mindful of their commitment to serve the Motherland at war times as well as peace times.
