Navy arrests 26 Persons for Illegal Fishing

Naval troops attached to SLNS Thambapanni in the North-western Naval Command arrested 26 persons for the possession of illegal fishing gear in the Sinnapadu area on 04th January 2010. They were handed over to Assistant Fisheries Director Puttlam for legal action.

The apprehended items from their possession are as follows:

1.	Conch Shells	187 nos.
2.	Oxygen Cylinders	84 nos.
3.	Diving Fins	17 nos.
4.	Diving Masks	16 nos.
5.	GPS	01 no.
6.	FGDs	09 nos.
7.	OBMs (25 HP)	09 nos.
