SLNS Gotaimbara donates School Books and Sports Equipment

To coincide the 12th Anniversary celebrations of SLNS Gotaimbara, naval personnel donated a consignment of school exercise books and sports equipment to the students of Sir Thureisami Vidyalaya on 05th May 2011. Naval personnel of SLNS Gotaimbara, Principal and Staff of the school and parents were present on the occasion.

The school is located on Punguduthive Island in the Jaffna peninsula and the children belong to the low-income families of the area. Having learnt the economic difficulties faced by the parents, naval personnel voluntarily donated money to buy the school books and the sports equipment needed for the children.
