VNF ANNUAL CAMP – 2011 CONCLUDES SUCCESSFULLY.

The Annual Camp and Division Inspection of Volunteer Naval Force of Sri Lanka Navy were concluded on 03rd of October 2011 at the Parade ground of SLNS Lanka, the Volunteer Naval Force Headquarters, with the participation of Officers and Sailors. The three week long Annual Camp began on 17th of September 2011 and lasted till 03rd October 2011.The occasion was graced by the presence of the Commander of the Navy, Commandant Volunteer Naval Force and other senior Naval officers.

The Annual camp was organized with the view of enhancing and updating professional Competencies, knowledge and attitudes of Volunteer Naval Personnel in the active service. The Volunteer Naval Force comprises of a large number of professionals who contribute the Navy, on a voluntary basis, by providing it with much needed expertise in various fields such as Medicine, Law, Engineering, Language Teaching, Information Technology and Accounting.

The Volunteer Naval Force of Sri Lanka which began as Ceylon Naval Volunteer Force with 12 officers and 18 sailors now comprises of 460 officers and 10378 sailors. Being a proud owner of an honorable history, it is with greatest esteem that the Volunteer Naval Force continues to serve the motherland as a confident partner of the Golden Fence around the nation.
