Deputy Chief of Royal Malaysian Navy, Vice Admiral DATUK Mohammed Noordin Bin Ali, paid a courtesy call on Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy Vice Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake at the Naval Headquarters in Colombo on 16th August 2012. Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy Vice Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake visited the Northern Naval Area on 01st August 2012. During the visit, he reviewed the infrastructure development activities carried out in the Northern Naval Area and the measures implemented for the welfare of the naval personnel.

Australian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Her Excellency Robyn Mudie called on Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy Vice Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake at the Naval Headquarters on 18th July 2012.

Their discussions focused on the recent attempts by Sri Lankans to illegally head for Australia. The High Commissioner was also informed of the steps taken by SLN to prevent those attempts during the meeting.

The head of the visiting team,Brigadier General SajjadulHaque, called on the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy and held cordial discussions on matters of mutual interests. Vietnam Ambassador in Sri Lanka His Excellency Ton Sinh Thanh called on the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy Vice Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake at the Naval Headquarters on 25th June 2012. Commander of the Navy visited the Eastern Naval Area on 04th and 05th April 2012. Visiting Batticaloa first, he declared open the Naval Deployment at Batticaloa. Navy Commander proceeded to Vakarai and declared open the new the Naval Regional Security Center (NRSC) at Vakarei. Having addressed Naval personnel at the NRSC. Thereafter, he visited Lankapatuna and declared open the Naval Deployment at Lankapatuna.
