Navy trounce CH&FC

Navy Sports Club kicked off their 2012 league rugby on a winning note trouncing CH&FC 29-13 at their inaugural Dialog A Division league rugby encounter, which was worked off at the Navy Sports Grounds in Welisara on 09th June 2012. His Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapaksha and First Lady Madam Shiranthi Wickremasinghe Rajapaksha, Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy Vice Admiral Somathilake Dissanayaka and senior naval officers were present on the occasion.

The scores stood at 21-6 at the First Half. Navy’s Dulip Methruwan, Dinusha Chathuranga and Danushka Sandaruwan put up tries each, which were beautifully converted by Thilina giving the Sailors an early lead. At the Second Half, Navy ruggerites kept their momentum and augmented the point tally with a try by Neranjan Wickremaratne and a penalty off Dev Ananda.
