Commander of the Navy visits Northern Naval Area

Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy Vice Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake visited the Northern Naval Area on 01^st August 2012. On arrival, he was received by Commander Northern Naval Area Rear Admiral Ravi Wijegunaratne.

During the visit, the Navy Commander reviewed the infrastructure development activities carried out in the Northern Naval Area and the measures implemented for the welfare of the naval personnel. He declared open the Naval Deployments at Kalmunai Point and Chundikulam, the Sewing Center, Holiday Bungalow and Cabanas at SLNS Wasamba and the Swimming Pool, Wardroom and Dining Hall at SLNS Uttara. He made observation visits to Port Hammond Hill Hotel at SLNS Elara, Pilgrim Rest at Dambakola Patuna and Naval Deployment Mullaithivu which belongs to the Eastern Naval Command . The Commander donated a three-wheeler to the Priest at Dambakola Patuna Devalaya. He also visited Nagadeepa as part of his Northern Naval Area visit.
