Navy assists to douse Fire in Trincomalee Town

The Navy’s prompt action prevented a sudden fire from escalating in a hardware store in Trincomalee Town on 05^th August 2012. Naval troops attached to the Fire Fighting Unit of the Eastern Naval Command rushed to the location and extinguished the fire.

The fire had erupted around 03.30 p.m. in the three-storey hardware store located in Middle Road. Two adjacent shops were slightly damaged but no lives were harmed in the fire. Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Air Force and Police too assisted to douse the fire.
