Navy assists the Pilgrims at Dambakolapatuna Viharaya

Sri Lanka Navy is providing facilities for the devotees who visit the historical Dambakolapatuna Viharaya situated at Madagal in Jaffna. More than 60,000 pilgrims from various parts of the country visited the sacred place during the last school vacation.

Buddhist pilgrims pay their homage at Dambakolapatuna Sri Sangamitta Viharaya, which is believed to be the place where Venerable Sangamitta Therani arrived at with the sacred sapling of the Jaya Sri Maha Boodhi to the country.
