The proceeds of the Cookery Demonstration held on the 22nd of October 2009 at the Mount Lavinia Hotel was handed over to President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Malathie Samarasinghe by Mrs. Sudeepa Jayanetthi at the Naval Headquarters on the 26th of October 2009. The proceeds will be utilized by the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit towards the welfare of sailors and their families. In appreciation of the invaluable contribution towards organizing and conducting the cookery demonstration, the President and members of the Navy SVU handed over a gift to Mrs. Sudeepa Jayanetthi. |

| Cookery demonstration to collect funds for welfare of sailors A Cookery Demonstration was organized by Navy Seva Vanitha Unit featuring Master Chef Dr. Publis Silva and Mrs. Sudeepa Jayanetthi yesterday (22nd October 2009) at the Mount Lavinia Hotel, Regency Hall. The event was fully sponsored by the management of Mount Lavinia Hotel and the tickets were printed by Print USA (Pvt) Ltd. The event was patronized by a large gathering. The proceeding from the sale of tickets will be utilized by the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit towards the welfare of sailors and their families. President of the Sri Lanka Army Seva Vanith Unit Mrs. Manjulika Jayasuriya also graced the occasion. |

A donation of electrical items worth of Rs. 250,000/= was made by the Orange Electric Company at the NHQ premises on the 24th April 2008 for the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit’s Proposed Housing Project for war heroes. The Seva Vanitha Unit has made arrangements to stage the well-renowned stage drama ‘Gajaman Puwatha’ at 6.30 p.m. on Friday 26th October 2007 at the Bishops College Auditorium. The first tickets were sold to the Commander of the Navy and to the Chief of Staff on 20th October 2007 by Mrs. Ashoka Karannagoda, the President of the Seva Vanitha Unit. Some of the Seva Vanitha Unit's members were also present on this occasion. |

| Navika Seva Vanitha Prasanga 2006 was held on 29th May 2006 at BMICH, where the first Lady Mrs. Shiranthi Rajapakshe was the chief guest. The SVU was able to raise approximately 1.4 million rupees at this occasion and the money is now being utilized for the housing project. | ||
