With His Excellency the President appointing my husband as the 16th Commander of the Navy and my subsequent inauguration as the 08th President of the Sri Lanka Navy Seva Vanitha Unit gives me great honour and pleasure to issue a message to mark the occasion.

On this happy moment, I wish to humbly emphasis the fact it is the paramount duty and obligation of all lady Officers, wives of Officers and sailors and women sailors in the Sri Lanka Navy to give their whole hearted cooperation toward this honourable effort of the government. Such united corporation with dedication would enable us to achieve better welfare to our membership, their families and help the government in development projects. 

Main focus would be to bring solice to those families of the heroes of the Nation who made the supreme sacrifice and to those injured whilst safeguarding our motherland from ruthless terrorists. Health, housing and education are areas which need to be progressed with the help of all well wishers.

I wish to remember with gratitude and thanks, all past Presidents of the Sri Lanka Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, past members and especially the immediate past President for their effort over many years in fulfilling their obligations in achieving the noble goals of this organization. Well wishers who helped the Seva Vanitha Unit and all officers, sailors and their spouses who worked tirelessly are also remembered with thanks.

I wish to also thank mother organization of the Seva Vanitha and the Seva Vanitha Unit of the Ministry of Defence for the great support tendered to our organization.

I wish all members and their families best of luck in their future endeavours and good health in the years to come with the blessings of the noble triple gem and all other religions.
