There are few steps that you need to follow if you need to recognize the Orion constellation
easily.
When you are in the Northern Hemisphere, Orion's Belt is best visible in the night sky during
the month of January - April at around 9:00 pm (GMT + Timezone).

When you are in the northern hemisphere, look from south to southeast. If you are in the
southern hemisphere, look to the north. Then find out Orion's belt. It can easily identify because
there three stars in a short straight line.

After that find out Orion’s knee. It is a bright star called Rigel. It located at the lower right of the
belt.
Then look for his shoulder. It is a star with orange-red colour called Betelgeuse which is located at
the upper left of the belt.
If it is still hard to find out the Orion, search the sky farther away to the lower left of the belt for a
bright star .You will find brightest star in the sky, Sirius.

Find the direction from the Orion Constellation
First Way – Lets’ find North Direction

1. Find the Orion Constellation
at the night sky.
2. Then locate its’ belt. (The
three stars in the middle, Alnitak,
Alnilam, and Mintaka, represent
Orion’s belt)
3. After that find out Orion’s
sword. If you look carefully for one
moderately bright, one dim, and one
fuzzy star which is hanging down
from Alnilam, the middle star in
Orion’s belt.
4. Then final step, just make an
imaginary arrow using these stars.
You will find out the exact North di-
rection.
